Nigerians and those with a Nigerian permanent resident permit coming from Brazil, India and Turkey shall undergo seven (7) days of mandatory quarantine in a Government approved facility at the point-of-entry city and at cost to the passenger. The following condition shall apply to such passengers:
Within 24 hours of arrival shall take a COVID-19 PCR test
If positive, the passenger shall be admitted within a government-approved treatment centre, in line with National treatment protocols.
If Negative, the Passenger shall continue to remain in quarantine and made to undergo a repeat PCR test on day 7 of their quarantine.
False declaration
Passenger(s) who provided false or misleading contact information will be liable to prosecution.
Person(s) who willfully disregard or refuse to comply with directions of Port-Health staff, security agencies or evade quarantine shall be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
State Governments are required to ensure that all returning travelers from ALL countries are monitored to ensure adherence to the mandatory seven-day self-isolation period and the repeat COVID-19 PCR test on the seventh day after arrival.
Please note
Each passenger would be required to pay for 14 days of isolation prior to departure or before leaving the airport. If passenger is negative on Day 7, a refund would be processed for the remaining seven days following a submission of a negative test result and a written application for a refund submitted to the bank representative/logistics representative.
Passengers that have not paid would be denied entry into Lagos State
Passengers would be required to pay for an additional COVID-19 PCR test within 24hrs of arrival at a cost of N40,000. This would be automatically added to your final bill
The cost of Isolation includes the passengers’ logistics from the airport to the chosen/designated accommodation
Accommodations would be treated on a first come first serve basis. If chosen accommodation is not available, another accommodation would be provided to the passenger by the logistics team
On no condition will passengers be allowed to isolate anywhere else apart from the Government approved facilities.
SANCTIONS
According to the Section 11 of the new gazette of the Lagos State Coronavirus Pandemic law of 2021, the Executive Governor has the right to order for the quarantine of a person or group of persons to be quarantined until it is safe for such quarantine order to be lifted in Lagos State.
Providing false or deliberately misleading information when filling out the online platform is an offence punishable by 1 year imprisonment and/or fines according to Section 17 of the Coronavirus Pandemic Emergency law 2021 in Lagos State.
According to Section 17 of same, if passengers break the quarantine rules, they may face a penalty of up to N300,000 and/or 1 year imprisonment.
